    Under immediate supervision, the Library Page performs routine library clerical work. The essential functions assigned to this class include: shelving and sorting books and other library materials according to the Dewey Decimal or other library classification system, by alphabetical, chronological or subject order; scanning barcodes, stamping, security taping, labeling, reinforcing bindings; performing minor book repair by replacing mylar covers, barcodes, and spine labels; performing basic services within the integrated library systems (ILS) software to create and access customer accounts and performing tasks such as, library applications processing, verification of application information, check/in – check/out of physical and digital materials; locating and retrieving books and other materials as directed; monitoring and maintaining shelves; maintaining reading areas, library collections, and shelving and storage areas in a clean and orderly manner; shifting and rearranging materials; sorting and routing daily mail; unpacking deliveries of materials and entering invoice information into the ILS; answering and screening phone calls and emails; providing information in person, by phone or email to other staff and/or the public regarding library services or facilities; using office machines and computers, and maintaining personal library email account; performing physical processing of library materials; picking up and delivering library materials and transporting them between departments. Performs other related duties as assigned.
