Atkins Library at UNC-Charlotte is accepting applications for our Atkins Fellows summer program. March 6 is the last day to submit an application. These fellowships are designed to give LIS students hands-on experience in an academic library.
The Atkins Fellows program is an eleven-week residential fellowship for students at the mid-point of their Library, Archives, or Information Science degree program. It is designed to provide each Fellow who participates with a work experience that is focused on professional-level tasks, with high level of independence and creativity, while also supporting Atkins Library's mission, goals, and initiatives. The six projects proposed for 2016 are in the areas of Assessment and Analytics, Authority Control, Collection Analysis and Promotion, Communications and Marketing, Curriculum and Instructional Materials Tech, and Web Archiving. Participants in this program will receive a $6,000 stipend, paid at an hourly rate ($13.64/hour, for eleven weeks of forty hours per week).
