GAMERT (Gaming) Round Table

The mission of the Games and Gaming Round Table is to provide the following:
  • A forum for the exchange of ideas and concerns surrounding games in libraries;
  • Resources to the library community to support the building and maintaining of library game collections;
  • A force for initiating and supporting game programming in libraries;
  • Create an awareness of, and need for, the support of the value of gaming and play in libraries, schools, and related learning communities.
  • Create an awareness of the value of games and gaming in library outreach and community engagement plans.
  • A professional and social forum for networking among librarians and non-librarians interested in games and gaming.

    Hello, Gamers!

    In case you haven't already seen the results of our first election elsewhere, I'm happy to report that the following officers have been elected for our round table. I'd like to introduce you to our new board of directors (starting July 1st).

    President = JP Porcaro
    Vice-president/President-elect = Diane Robson
    Treasurer = Darla Gutierrez
    Secretary = Erik Bobilin
    Member-at-large =Brian Mayer

    If you'd like to get more involved with GameRT activities (like ALAplay, International Games Day @ your library, the forthcoming GameRT website, etc.), please don't hesitate to post to our group in Connect or contact one of these folks.

    And a big thank you to all of the GameRT members who voted in the election!
