  • 1.  Welcome Message to New Members?

Has anyone ever thought to maybe send a message to the new members of RMRT? I'm a volunteer with my alma matre (CU Boulder), and we do a nice little welcome message to our new Forever Buffs members. I'm wondering if it might be nice to do something similar. I'm new to this Round Table, so I'm not really sure what the protocol would be for doing something like this or even if it would be an option but I thought I would put it out there for discussion if you would like to discuss?

    Thx.

    Lisa,
I think this is a great idea. We will get on it (since myself and Ann Marie Pipkin are the membership committee.)

Interested in joining us on the committee? Anyone else out there interested?

Thanks Michele! I would be interested in joining the committee with you and Ann Marie. Let me know what I need to do to join the committee. I have information from the University on what they do and the type of welcome messages and the spreadsheet they use as well. I'm sure it would easily adapt to our group.

    Thanks for the invite!

Membership is so important!  We have something great going on in ALA and we want to share it!  We are really all on the membership committee. But, if you want to make it a focus for you in RMRT, join Shelley, me and others to move ideas along!

That is a great idea.  I believe that I received one last year when I renewed.  I think Nancy's name was on it.  I will look to see if I can find it and post it.  Danielle probably has it, and Rocco will just need to update it.  It would be automatically sent when someone renews.

I think Danielle wrote it. It went to all new members. But it was pretty ALA generic. We could use one tailored for our members.

I think a welcome back message might be different than a new member message. Would you like me to put a draft of something together that we can all comment and refine?
