Join RMRT and continue your professional journey while staying connected with the ALA and the friends you've made along the way.

Retired?  Thinking of retiring?  If so, ALA's Retired Members Round Table offers you an opportunity to stay active professionally.

The Retired Members Round Table recognizes the invaluable contributions retired library professionals bring to the field. RMRT members work together to plan programming, provide mentorship and leadership development for the next generation of library professionals, and encourage active engagement in ALA and the library profession.

RMRT members come from all backgrounds with experience across our profession - public libraries, school libraries, academic libraries and beyond. Membership in RMRT offers you the opportunity to renew past friendships and make new ones. Our mission is to foster lifelong professional involvement and networking and ew continue to stay active in ALA for the community, the conferences, and the opportunity to advocate for libraries. And of course, to talk about books and have FUN!

Visit the RMRT Website for more information. RMRT also offers two travel grants to the ALA Annual Conference each year to retired members - we'd love to see you in San Diego for ALA Annual this summer - RMRT!

Add RMRT today! RMRT dues are a low $15.00/membership year (dues are pro-rated if you're adding RMRT to your existing ALA membership)

Don't forget that if you are a retiree and have been an ALA member for at least 25 continuous years, you are eligible for a free lifetime regular ALA membership.  Contact ALA's Member Services at membership@ala.org  for more information.
