The Retired Members Round Table (RMRT) shall exist to develop programs of particular interest to retired persons from all types of libraries and all forms of library services, including formal opportunities for continued involvement and learning; a variety of leadership training and opportunities for mentoring; lifelong professional involvement and networking; and active engagement in the American Library Association and the profession of librarianship.

    I am pleased to announce the results for RMRT from the ALA election results.  And kudos to all who voted--RMRT had the highest percentage of members voting of all ALA units (divisions and round tables, etc.), 35.83%!

    Jana Brock, retired from the Keller, TX library is the Chair-elect for 2026-2027 while Ann Marie Pipkin will move from Chair-elect to Chair as of the end of ALA Annual in June.  

    Toni Negro will represent RMRT on ALA Council.  I have served with Toni on Council previously and know how effective she has been in that role and know she will represent us well.
