Good afternoon, everyone and happy fall,
I'm feeling a sense of overwhelm even as a retiree. I feel it might be the fact I have overcommitted myself as I am taking a class at the University, I'm the Membership Chair for RMRT, I am volunteering a lot and still need to set time aside for my family and friends.
One of my retired friends gave me a great bit of advice, she told me to take a day off once/week to do absolutely nothing and anything I wanted to do, but do not schedule anything. This Sunday will be my first "unscheduled" day I've had in a long time, and since I won't know what to expect, I don't think I will plan on anything and see where the day takes me. She also took a look at my schedule and noted that I've often got not just one event daily, but up to 4-5 events, which she exclaimed "no wonder why you are so tired being retired." So, I guess I'm going to have to start saying no much more.
As a retiree I often seek the guidance and advise of other retirees, as I mentioned above.
