The Retired Members Round Table (RMRT) shall exist to develop programs of particular interest to retired persons from all types of libraries and all forms of library services, including formal opportunities for continued involvement and learning; a variety of leadership training and opportunities for mentoring; lifelong professional involvement and networking; and active engagement in the American Library Association and the profession of librarianship.

    Our ALA Annual Conference is fast approaching and the Retired Members Round Table (RMRT) has a lot to offer you. Whether you are already retired or retirement is on the horizon, please join us! You do not have to be a member of RMRT to attend our programs, although we would be delighted if you joined.

    Saturday, June 29th, 10:00-11:30am - Tour of Geisel Library at UC San Diego. If you would like to join us reserve your spot at  Tour the Geisel Library at UC San Diego with RMRT.       Transportation on your own. For a preview of the library go to UC San Diego Library Home Page

    Saturday, June 29th, 2:00-3:00pm, RMRT Membership Meeting, Convention Center, Room 14A

    Saturday, June 29th, 3:30-4:30pm, RMRT Book Discussion, Convention Center, Room 14A. Our book discussions are an opportunity to share different books with a common theme. Come to our in-person meeting at Annual prepared to talk about a book with California as its theme.

    Sunday, June 30th, 11:00am-Noon, Lecture by San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and the library at Beckman Conservation Science Center, Convention Center, Room 11B.

    Michele, RMRT has a great looking series of events. I won’t be traveling to Annual from Portland Maine, too far and other commitments. But to good times and the dinner choice looks appealing. To next conference. David Nutty
