  • 1.  Reflecting on Retirement

    Posted 5 days ago

    Dear colleagues,

As members of the Retired Members Round Table, we carry with us decades of stories, service, and friendships forged through our shared commitment to libraries. This season invites us to pause and reflect on the many reasons we are thankful.

    • Thankful for our profession: Libraries gave us the privilege of connecting people with knowledge, fostering curiosity, and opening doors to opportunity.

    • Thankful for our colleagues: The friendships and mentorships we built continue to enrich our lives long after retirement.

    • Thankful for our communities: We witnessed firsthand the power of libraries to transform neighborhoods, empower learners, and provide safe spaces for all.

    • Thankful for the future: Seeing new generations of librarians carry forward the mission fills us with hope and pride.

Though our daily work may now look different, our bond with libraries remains strong. Let's continue to share our wisdom, celebrate each other's journeys, and support the profession we love.

Wishing each of you peace, joy, and gratitude this season.

Warm regards, Retired Members Round Table
