  • 1.  Prompt for 5th Sunday in November

    Posted Sep 06, 2025 05:36 PM

The next RMRT Book Club discussion is December  7th as the November date is too close to the Thanksgiving holidays. We hope that you will have time to join us as we discuss books that we read centered around "traveler's tales".

The prompt is there for you to  interpret ! In fact , if you want to change it up to make it plural "travelers' tales" you can !

I usually start my Internet search with an open mind to see what will spark my interest  By searching  "Travel" in Goodreads , I had 589, 972 hits with "travel" in the title. WOW!  Some all time favorites that showed up were   The Time Traveler's Wife, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Gulliver's Travels, The Road Less Traveled, Travels with Charlie, etc. Then there were books from travelers like Rick Steves, Bill Bryson, Anthony Bourdain, and even Mark Twain …and also a recounting of Marco Polo's travels.

So, have fun with the prompt and  choose a book to share with us  on our December 7th Zoom meeting!

Nann will post the Zoom link.  Happy reading and happy traveling!

I never make these meetings, for which I feel bad, because of a standing Sunday cozy mystery and dinner date with my sister. But every time I see the prompt I think about what I should read for it. I find it both funny and telling that I have yet to see a prompt this year that I couldn't fulfill reading my favorite novel, Journey to the West. It just bolsters my belief that Journey to the West did everything first.

Good to hear from you and your suggestion. I am working on a summary of all of our prompts since we began. Would love to hear your thoughts on the list of prompts!

We only meet 4 times a year. If you are at ALA annual, look us up!  We have a Friday night dinner and face to face Book Club chat on Saturday or Sunday.

Or, join us on a Zoom call with your sister!  Everyone's welcome!
