Good morning, everyone!
I know that Michelle will have an official announcement to all of you shortly, but she has asked, and I have accepted the opportunity to become the Chair of the Membership Committee for this year. So far, we have three members on the committee, Michelle, Ann Marie and me. If you would like to be a part of this awesome group, please let me know.
As Michelle had mentioned in our most recent board meeting, our membership numbers have increased, and we want to be sure that our membership keeps rising. Early last year the committee developed a new member welcome letter that I will be coordinating on with Danielle. We hope to gain new membership with the notification of the Ongoing Free Membership for those who have been with ALA for 25 years or more. You will find that information on the ALA website here: Continuing Membership | Membership (ala.org)
I'd like to post information about this to our RMRT website, but I don't think I have the proper permissions to do so. If anyone knows how to do this, and would be willing to let me know, I'd much appreciate it.
I will be working with ALA to make sure our summer conference programs are highlighted for prospective members once we have dates and times. confirmed.
Let me know if you have any ideas or thoughts on bringing new members into our Round Table. I'm always open to any suggestions.
Hope to see many of you on Sunday for the Book Club! I have a very funny book!
Love you guys,
