Whether you're already retired or beginning to think about retirement, ALA's Retired Members Round Table offers a welcoming space to remain engaged in the profession you've helped build.

RMRT celebrates the invaluable experience and insight that retired library professionals bring to our field. Members collaborate on programming, provide mentorship and leadership development for emerging professionals, and stay actively involved in ALA and the broader library community.

Our members represent every corner of librarianship-public, school, academic, and special libraries. Joining RMRT is a wonderful way to reconnect with longtime colleagues, build new friendships, and continue contributing to the profession. Our mission is to foster lifelong involvement, meaningful networking, and ongoing advocacy for libraries. And of course, we never miss an opportunity to talk about books and have fun together.

Visit the RMRT website to learn more, Retired Members Round Table (RMRT) | Retired Member Round Table. Each year, RMRT also awards two travel grants to help retired members attend the ALA Annual Conference. We'd love to see you in San Diego this summer!

Add RMRT to your membership today. Annual dues are just $15 and are prorated if you're adding RMRT to an existing ALA membership.

And don't forget-if you are a retiree and have been an ALA member for at least 25 consecutive years, you may be eligible for a free lifetime regular ALA membership. Contact ALA Member Services at membership@ala.org for details.
