There are about two hundred or so people who subscribe to this roundtable on ALA Connect.  I am sure that a few of you would like to receive $1000 for travel to ALA Annual in Washington. One of the benefits of being a member of the Retired Members Roundtable is the The Norman Horrocks-Rowman & Littlefield Annual Conference Award .  This award is given annual to a member of the roundtable  to attend ALA Annual in person!   Apply for the award by March 16, 2022.

Reply to this message so that I can see just wondering how affective this list serve is.  Also mention if you have received this award in the past.

I would apply but I have already received it.

Just joined the Round Table today.

Was thinking about applying, but I have a question. I retired in 2016 from full-time work, but returned about a year ago to a part-time position at another library.

Am I still eligible to apply?

Welcome!  You made a good choice!! Anyone can join RMRT. You do not have to be retired.

    Hi Melinda,

You should apply for the award.  RMRT will define retire as Retired from Full-time Employment.

    All the best,

    Rocco

I think this list is the best way to reach most of us unless you want to send out individual messages, which seems like a waste of time.  Oh, and I'm not applying for the grant.--

I have received this award and continue to serve RMRT as secretary. I was hooked from the start and love interacting with members from AASL and other divisions who are retired and still active!

I have been looking for ways to stay active in ALA and librarianship as a retiree. I really miss the learning and camaraderie of going to Conference. The cost has, frankly, been a deterrent. I would love to apply for this!
