    Membership Committee

    MW 2016 Report

    Committee Members:

Naomi Angier, Linda Fein, Pat Hofmann, Christine Peck, Judi Repman, Marcella Stark, and Teri Switzer, Chair

     Committee Actions:

    1. Reviewed the RMRT membership brochure.  After the midwinter meeting, Teri will work with Danielle Alderson, RMRT’s ALA staff liaison, to revise the section on benefits.  Specifically, wording will be inserted to make it clearer those benefits that are a direct result of one’s membership in RMRT versus those benefits that are a result of one’s ALA membership.

    2. Drafted a membership plan, which is attached.  This plan is dynamic and likely will be revised throughout the year.

    3. Christine Peck is reaching out to the ALA chapters asking what state associations have a retiree membership.  The committee will discuss opportunities for collaboration that may exist with state chapters that offer retiree membership.

    4. Started recruiting for members from the general membership of ALA as well as our own personal associations.

    5. Arranged for (partial) staffing of the RMRT kiosk in the Membership Pavilion at the Boston Midwinter meeting.
