Hi Everybody,
I am now into my third year of being retired and am observing that my procrastination tendencies are getting stronger! I look forward to seeing everyone this January in Seattle. The meeting start time has been corrected to 8 a.m. from 8:30. I'll let everyone know where we will be meeting as soon as I get the news from ALA.
This Spring we will be electing our second vice president/president elect as a group. There will also be several Board openings as well. The nominating committee welcomes your suggestions and self nominations. You can contact any or all members of the committee

Summer Program
In the true spirit of ALA cooperation and reinvention we are joining with ALSCA to co-sponsor a program entitled "Boomers to Seniors: Library Models for Serving and Engaging Older Adults". It is a panel presentation scheduled for the ALA 2013 Annual Conference in Chicago on June 30, 2013 from 1-2:30.
I thought this would be an excellent fit for us and suggested they might want to include a segment on what to do when the retiree moves to your community or is one of your former staff.
We also want to plan some social events. If there is enough interest this could include a trip to the Lincoln Library and Museum in Springfield Illinois as well as the now traditional baseball game and dinner out. Weigh in if you are interested in any of these social events.
