I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and highlight some of the services that NMRT offers to you, our members.

My name is Annice Sevett and I am the president of NMRT for 2022-2023. NMRT is unique within ALA in that our members represent every type of work in our field. Members of NMRT have been members of the association for ten years or less, and we are often the first stop within ALA for individuals looking to get involved and/or make the most of their ALA membership. Whether you joined to take advantage of the opportunities NMRT has available, to get involved by volunteering, network with your peers, or another reason, we are glad you are here.

A few of the opportunities available to you as an NMRT member include scholarship opportunities to attend the ALA Annual Conference, participating in our mentorship program either as a mentor or a mentee, and joining in our online discussions about topics related to our field. This is a short list, but the best way to find out about NMRT's offerings is by reading the posts from Connect (such as this one), reading NMRT Notes (our blog), or following us on Facebook or Twitter (ALA's New Member Roundtable or @alanmrt).  Everything our round table does is organized by members who have committed themselves to the work of the round table by volunteering for one of our committees. We accept committee appointments on an ongoing basis, so if you'd like to volunteer, you can fill out the ALA Volunteer Form. Our committees are just getting started for the year, so look out for announcements about our services soon.

The entire NMRT Executive Board is here to make sure you get the most out of your membership. Please reach out if you have any questions or comments. I look forward to the year ahead for NMRT!
