Dear NMRT Members,
I hope all of you are having an excellent week! I wanted to share an upcoming online panel discussion sponsored by the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL)'s Residency Interest Group. This seminar is particularly relevant to those of us in NMRT, since many of us are early career librarians, and may have to negotiate salaries for the first time. Although it is sponsored by the Residency Interest Group, the information in this panel discussion could be useful to all of us at some point in our careers!
Negotiating Salaries - Click to registerDate: September 23, 2024
Time: 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT/10 a.m. MT/9 a.m. PT
Location: Zoom
Description:
To negotiate or not to negotiate, that is the question. Following a residency, the question may be even more crucial to librarians who may feel eager for a permanent role but unsure how to appropriately measure their skills and experience. If this is you, we invite you to join the ACRL Residency Interest Group (RIG) for the panel discussion Life After Residencies: Negotiating Salaries. The conversation will explore salaries: tips and best practices for negotiating them, insights on salary ranges by institutions (and how the negotiations differ within them), examples of negotiations gone well (or poorly), and more.
Panelists:
