Survey on information behaviors in reference services

  • 1.  Survey on information behaviors in reference services

    Posted May 15, 2025 06:56 PM

    Dear colleagues,

We invite you to participate in a survey aimed at better understanding which concepts and models of information behavior are recognized as important by professionals who provide reference services in libraries. The survey is intended for librarians with an MLIS or equivalent who currently provide reference services as part of their work in any type of library.

In the survey, you will be presented with simple, easy-to-understand descriptions of key ideas drawn from selected theories or models related to information behavior. We are not assessing your knowledge or skills - rather, we are interested in your experiences and perspectives on the presented concepts.

Your input will help us in teaching and in evaluating the practical relevance of these concepts.

The survey will take approximately 10–15 minutes to complete.

Your responses will remain anonymous and will be used solely for research and educational purposes.

If  you have any questions about this study, please email the research team  at vanscoy@buffalo.edu. This study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board at the University at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY, USA.
Thanks for your consideration especially at this particularly challenging time,

    Africa
