    Hello All,

Now is the time for ALA student chapters to reflect on their accomplishments throughout the year and submit a portfolio for their chance to win funds to attend ALA's 150th Anniversary Conference Party! Please see the attached application information. We are working on updating the website and I will update this when the link is updated for 2026. I wanted to get this information out as soon as possible. Please let me know if you have any questions and please email me your completed portfolios!

"In the spirit of ALA's NMRT, the Student Chapter of the Year Award is presented in recognition of a chapter's outstanding contributions to the American Library Association, their school, and the profession. The purpose of the award is to increase student involvement in ALA through student chapters, and to recognize future leaders in the profession."

Here is a link to the website: https://www.ala.org/rt/nmrt/scotya . It has not been updated for 2026 and includes some 2025 information, but the relevant information (purpose and amount of the award) still stand for this year.

The instructions are attached, applications are due March 6, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central. Please email all questions and complete applications to Morgan Brickey-Jones at morgan.brickeyjones@uta.edu
