    Hello,

Please excuse any cross-posting of this invitation to participate in our study.

We would like you to consider participating in a 1-hour interview that focuses on early career librarianship, Large Language Models, and workplace stress and burnout. You are being asked to participate in this research study by Jessica Rardin, University of Wyoming Libraries, and Maddi Brenner, University of Iowa. Our research study focuses on how early career librarians learn about large language models, use the tool, and the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on their stress and workflows related to scholarship, service, and librarian work.

We seek to interview anyone over the age of 18 who has worked in an academic library, full-time, from 0-5 years (post-receiving a masters' degree), and holds a master's degree from an ALA-accredited library school or equivalent degree. We are seeking participants who express an interest in being interviewed and have some experience using any Large Language Model like ChatGPT or Claude.

If you decide to participate, we anticipate the interviews will take 45 minutes to an hour to complete. The questions will capture participants' experience in their graduate program, first years in the role, stress related to their roles, the impact of AI on workplace relationships, and the future of early career librarians in relation to AI.

If you are interested in participating, please review our informed consent statement and share your contact information via this Qualtrics form: https://uwyo.sjc1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cVlZ0IGf0JspAcS

The survey will be live for 8 weeks (2 months) until February 23, 2026. We anticipate the interviews will occur between January- March 2026. If you have questions, please contact Co-Principal Investigator, Jessica Rardin (jessica.rardin@uwyo.edu).

    Thank you for considering,

Jessica Rardin, University of Wyoming, Co-Principal Investigator

Maddi Brenner, University of Iowa, Co-Principal Investigator
