    Dear Colleagues,

Thank you to those of you who have already taken the survey. For anyone else interested...

You are invited to participate in a survey designed to better understand the hiring processes, challenges, and outcomes associated with academic librarian search committees, with particular attention to the experiences of new librarians. This survey seeks input from individuals who have served on librarian search committees to explore common practices, barriers to successful hiring, and factors that influence the recruitment and retention of early-career librarians. The goal is to glean insights that may inform strategies to improve recruitment and retention in academic libraries, especially in addressing chronic librarian vacancies.

Your participation in this study is voluntary. Even if you decide to be part of the study now, you may change your mind and stop at any time without penalty. If you decide to withdraw before this study is completed, your data will not be included in the final results. Upon completion of the study, all information that can directly identify respondents will be deleted from the research data collected.

The time to complete this survey is estimated to be 10-15 minutes. This survey will be available from Monday, June 23rd at 12:00 AM (ET) to Friday, July 25th at 11:59 PM (ET)

This study, Protocol ID: 2118 - Librarian Vacancy and Search Committee Participation Survey, has been approved by Stetson University's Institutional Review Board (IRB). See Protocol Approval Certificate.
