Hello All,
I'm currently accepting applications for a position on the panel for the NMRT President's Program at the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago!
The program will focus on promotion in libraries- promotions that include supervision (and all that entails) and routes to promotion that do not include supervisory duties. Panelists will discuss their route to promotion, their excitement (or fears) about supervising others, if they do not supervise they'll talk about their current role and how they got there.
Here is the panel description: This panel presentation aims to help newer librarians discern what career advancement could look like for them in their chosen library. It seems like most librarians need to become a manager in order to advance in the field, but for some librarians that is not compatible with their goals, or it is not possible in their libraries. We will hear from librarians with varied experiences and give actionable tips to work towards promotions, whatever that may look like!
If you have experience in this area (or know someone who does) please fill out this form or pass it along!
Applications are due by Monday, March 2 at 5 p.m. CST.
