Hello NMRT Members,
The most recent meeting of the Intellectual Freedom Committee was held today, Monday, February 12. Here are some updates from the meeting:
1. The Privacy Subcommittee reported that their LibLearnX program titled "Upholding Trans Patron Privacy & Information Access" had approximately 50 attendees and will become an eLearning presentation through ALA. Be on the lookout for more information.
2. United Against Book Bans is going to be publishing their "Book Resume" project soon. It will consist of resumes on frequently challenged books that can be used to support books during those difficult times. Their website can be found at this link.
3. Right to Read Day is scheduled for April 8, the day that the top 10 list of most frequently banned books is released.
4. The Freedom to Read Foundation President's Program will take place on February 22. The topic is "Continuing the Conversation: Intellectual Freedom and Social Justice" and the registration link is available here.
5. The Intellectual Freedom Roundtable is looking for committee volunteers. Click here for the link.
