    Dear NMRT members,

    The most recent meeting of the Intellectual Freedom Committee took place on Monday, May 13.  Here are a few updates:

    1. Banned Book Week planning is well underway!  The special week is from September 22-28, 2024.  Reach out to Betsy Gomez bgomez@ala.org at the Office of Intellectual Freedom to collaborate.  Please let her know of any Banned Book Week events planned at your library, so that she can add it to the event calendar. 

    2. If there are any issues to the intellectual freedom issues on the new ALA website, please let Betsy know as well.

    3. Here are a couple of helpful links that were shared at the meeting:
