    Hello colleagues,

    The Library Research Round Table (LRRT) seeks nominations for three elected positions on the LRRT Steering Committee: Chair-Elect, Secretary-Treasurer, and Member-at-Large. Position descriptions appear at the end of the message. 

    These service opportunities are a wonderful way to develop your leadership skills in a friendly and supportive environment, get involved with fellow LRRT members, and learn more about ALA  and LRRT. LRRT provides public program opportunities to disseminate research findings and educate the professional community on research techniques for problem-solving and decision-making. Candidates must be LRRT members in good standing at the time of election (Spring 2023). 

    We welcome and value candidates with all levels of experience. If you want to invest in the future of LRRT and our profession, and if you have time to serve, then you are a qualified candidate. The LRRT Nominating Committee would love to hear from you and answer your questions. Below are the responsibilities of each position:


    Chair-Elect: Three-year term (July 2023-June 2026), one year each as Chair-Elect, Chair, and Past-Chair. Supports the Chair with managing LRRT activities such as the LRRT Forum Program at ALA Annual, Mentorship Program, Jesse H. Shera Award for Distinguished Published Research, Library Research Seminar planning, and other potential initiatives. Recruits and leads the Nominating Committee as Chair-Elect. Participates in Steering Committee meetings which are all virtual. 


    Secretary-Treasurer: Two year term (July 2022-June 2024) Serves as the secretary for the steering committee and reviews and shares information from financial reports from ALA.
