    Happy April, everyone!

For this month's discussion post, we're checking in with everyone's New Years resolutions.

So far, my resolutions are going well. I've connected with several people at professional events, and I'm slowly working my way through policy development books.

I'm excited to hear people's progress!

Policy Development books! Way to go Kathleen!

My librarian new year's resolutions were about staying up to date on teaching with AI and Open Education. So far so good for me as well. I'm planning to attend the University of Florida's Teaching & Learning with AI conference in June. I've been accepting vendor invites for guided exploration of their AI tools. And finally, to kick start my Open Ed journey, I'm working through Texas OER Core Elements Course online.

So this wasn't a New Year's Resoluation, but it is something I have resolved to do going foward! I found myself answering emails from people after my work day ends. I realized that these emails were not productive for me, or for the recipients. My communication is better when I'm in "work mode" and when I've had time to reflect on the content of the message, rather than responding quickly to just make sure there is a response. I've decided to wait until the next working day to respond to most emails. Teams, I'm happy to respond to (I have a team that works in shifts, sometimes unitl very late, so having a manager that can answer questions beyond the strict 9-5 is a part of my role. I don't encourage this if it's not in your role/ job description).

    Thank You!

    Morgan
