    Greetings!
On behalf of Co-Chair Erika Jenns and the Rare Books and Manuscripts Section (RBMS) Membership & Professional Development Committee (M & PD), it is my distinct honor and pleasure to invite you to our upcoming informational event, aptly titled, Get Involved with RBMS, on Monday, 1 February 2021, at 3:00–4:30 PM Eastern.

Registration closes Sunday, 31 January, 2021 at 9:00 PM Eastern.   Sign up at: http://bit.ly/RBMSGetInvolved2021
As the deadline approaches for volunteer ACRL applications, M & PD has coordinated this first-ever virtual information session, designed to introduce RBMS Committees, Task Forces, and Discussion Groups to interested attendees in an informal setting. This 90-minute session is free and open to all, and will feature representatives from RBMS leadership, including all* committees and discussion groups, and:
    • ACRL/RBMS Guidelines for Interlibrary and Exhibition Loan of Special Collections Materials Task Force
    • Diversity Committee
    • RBMS22 Conference Program Planning Committee
    • Technical Services Discussion Group
    • Manuscripts and Other Formats Discussion Group
    • Budget & Development Committee
    • RBMS Web Team
    • RBM journal Editorial Board
    -and more (as they say).
We are thrilled to have such commitment to service in our Section, and look forward to adding new perspectives to the committee and task force rosters. Applications are due Friday, 12 February!
Special thanks to Heather Smedberg, RBMS Vice Chair/Chair-Elect, for hosting this session via Zoom.
We hope you can join us on February 1st! Please share this announcement widely with LIS and PhD programs and your networks. Again, the link to register is: http://bit.ly/RBMSGetInvolved2021. You will receive a confirmation from membership@rbms.info; please add us to your address book!
    Sincerely,
Diane Dias De Fazio and Erika Jenns, Co-Chairs RBMS Membership & Professional Development Committee
