Hello all – I am part of a group of librarians working on a Community Action Toolkit to help parents and other community members support school librarians and oppose efforts to challenge and ban books in their home communities.  If you are aware of any great resources for non-librarians or organizations working on these issues that we should include in the toolkit, please share them with me at librarysherry@yahoo.com.  We have a working list going, but we would greatly appreciate your input about what is happening in your state!

Also, if anyone is aware of any state legislation or even local ordinances/legislation being introduced that is supportive of the First Amendment and students' right to read/intellectual freedom, I would love to know about that.  I am personally looking at proactive efforts to create a counternarrative supporting students' right to read/intellectual freedom.

    Thanks!

    Sherry
