The mission of the Library Instruction Round Table (LIRT) is to provide a forum for discussion of activities, programs, and problems of instruction in the use of libraries; to contribute to the education and training of librarians for library instruction; to promote instruction in the use of libraries as an essential library service, and to serve as a channel of communication on library instruction between the ALA divisions, ALA and ACRL committees, state clearinghouses, Project LOEX, other organizations concerned with instruction in the use of libraries, and members of the Association.

    This three-year contract position is part of the University Libraries Residency Program and provides early-career librarians with professional experience and mentoring in academic librarianship. Designed to engage librarians who are members of historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, the residency program will give the successful candidate an opportunity to gain experience and skills necessary to thrive as an academic and research librarian.     Reporting to the Associate Dean for Student and Scholar Services, the Community Outreach & Reference Librarian designs, implements, and assesses the library's marketing and outreach initiatives with a special focus on events and exhibits with community partners. In particular, this position will engage deeply with the Graduate School of Professional Psychology's Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialty (IECMH) to connect the Libraries with underserved communities across the Denver metro area in support of early childhood literacy. 

     
    The Librarian serves as a reference librarian and as co-liaison to the Morgridge College of Education, which includes the Library and Information Science Department. Participating fully as part of the Reference & Instruction Department, the librarian also provides general and specialized consultations for students, faculty, and staff in the Research Center, teaches information literacy workshops, and participates in instructional programming for first-year foundational courses. As a faculty member, the librarian actively engages in scholarly activities through research and publication and participates in professional organizations, as well as library and campus committees.

     

    The salary range for this position is $60,000-$65,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.
