The mission of the Library Instruction Round Table (LIRT) is to provide a forum for discussion of activities, programs, and problems of instruction in the use of libraries; to contribute to the education and training of librarians for library instruction; to promote instruction in the use of libraries as an essential library service, and to serve as a channel of communication on library instruction between the ALA divisions, ALA and ACRL committees, state clearinghouses, Project LOEX, other organizations concerned with instruction in the use of libraries, and members of the Association.

    Greetings, all!

    I'm excited to report that the University of Delaware Library, Museums and Press is hiring two leadership positions for the (newly formed) Learning, Engagement, and Curriculum Support division. Both positions will be working with me to shape this division and its priorities and support the work of its staff.

    If you are a collaborative leader who is passionate about opening doors for deeper understanding of library users' needs, structuring exceptional and equitable services that help our faculty reach their goals and our students' to find success, I hope you will explore these opportunities!

    We are hiring a Head, Research and Engagement Services. This leader will have opportunities to:

    • Shape priorities and build the capacity of our recently reorganized liaison team as it seeks to deepen its connection to the needs of UD researchers and students.
    • Engage extensively with faculty support initiatives, and the campus and library departments which support researchers throughout the research lifecycle.
    • Steward the ongoing evolution of our virtual and in person reference services
    • Support and mentor 8 exempt and 1 nonexempt staff members.

    We are hiring a Head, Student Success and Curriculum Partnerships. This leader will have opportunities to:

    • Lead the design and delivery of our teaching and learning services in support of the research and curricular mission of the University. 
    • Shape the community of practice among those who teach across all departments of the Library, Museums and Press
    • Help shape campus wide initiatives related to improving teaching and student success through work with our Faculty Commons partners. 
    • Strengthening connections with Student Life and academic support groups that students Support and mentor 4.5 exempt and 1 nonexempt staff members.
