The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    Greetings all,

    GODORT still has a number of volunteer opportunities, including leadership roles, available this year on a number of GODORT committees.

    Chair positions include:

    • Awards/Conference
    • Cataloging
    • Government Information for Children (GIC)

    We also are looking for someone to serve as Interest Group Leader for State and Local Documents.

    Member roles available include:

    • Awards/Conference
    • Cataloging
    • Development
    • Education
    • Government Information for Children (GIC)
    • Membership/Nominating
    • Programming/Help/Kenya Flash
    • Publications:
      • At large member
      • Federal Documents Judges (for Notable Docs)
      • State and Local Documents Judges (for Notable Docs)
      • International Documents Selector (for Notable Docs)
    • Social Media/Outreach/Technology 

    We also are looking for liaisons to the following ALA Committees

    • ALA EDI Assembly
    • Library Education, Education Assembly
    • Literacy Assembly
