  • 1.  Volunteer for GODORT liaison to CC:DA

    Posted May 13, 2025 01:52 PM

    Hi all,

GODORT is looking for someone to fill a vacancy in our CC:DA liaison position, beginning July 1 of this year. CC:DA is the ALA Committee on Cataloging: Description and Access.

This vacancy is for one year and it is renewable for a two-year term beginning in July 2026. The primary responsibilities for fulfilling this liaison position include attending both spring and annual meetings and keeping an eye out for any proposed changes to RDA that may impact government documents cataloging. The CC:DA liaison is a non-voting member of CC:DA and an ex-officio member of the GODORT Cataloging Committee.

    Chad Deets (
chad.deets@asu.edu) is our current liaison, and he is happy to answer any questions about the committee for those who are interested.

Requirements for this position include being an ALA and GODORT member. In-person attendance at the ALA Annual Conference is strongly encouraged but not required.

If you are interested in serving in this position, please contact Valerie Glenn (
    valerie.glenn@georgetown.edu) by June 6th.

    Thanks,

    valerie

    Hi Valerie and All,

Edit: My apologies, I didn't see the note about attendance at Annual in Valerie's original message.

I can't volunteer because I'll be filling another CC:DA liaison position, but I wanted to mention that CC:DA meets virtually around the time Midwinter used to occur, but they meet in person at Annual in case that impacts any potential volunteers' decisions.

    Regards,

    Amanda
