The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    Researchers at the University of Maryland are conducting a survey on library and archives student workers who are enrolled in Master's programs in library and information science. The survey is measuring their perceptions of how student jobs are preparing LIS students for a professional career in libraries or archives.


    This survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.


    In order to take the survey, you must:


    • Be at least 18 years old

    • Be currently enrolled in an American Library Association-accredited Master's program at a university located in the United States (including Puerto Rico) or Canada

    • Currently have at least one job in a library or archive that requires you to be a student in order to be in your job role

      • Examples of student jobs include: hourly student worker, graduate assistantship, internship, fellowship, apprenticeship, practicum, field study, co-op program, or work-study program 

    • NOT currently have one full-time job (35-40 hours per work week) in a library or archive that can be held by non-students
