The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    I am pleased to announce that our 2026-2027 GODORT Friday Chats are beginning again starting on September 4, 2026! Our first speaker will be Amelia N. Aldred, Deputy Director of State and Local Advocacy at the American Library Association. Her presentation will discuss volunteer opportunities at ALA to support legislative tracking efforts. 

    To register, fill out the GODORT Friday Chats Registration Form. You only need to register once for the entire series. GODORT Friday Chats are hosted on the 1st Friday of each month at 1pm ET/12 CT/11am MT/10am PT.  For a full schedule and more information, please see the GODORT Friday Chats LibGuide. 

    Anyone is welcome to come - no GODORT membership necessary. :)
