The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) ALA Annual Virtual Committee meetings June 9-13 – registration LibGuide is up at https://godort.libguides.com/2025godortannual  . These meetings are open to all, just need to register for the Zoom link, which is at this page. Registering allows you to attend any of the GODORT virtual meetings. You do not need to be an ALA or GODORT member to attend GODORT meetings. If you are interested in learning more about GODORT, come check out our schedule!
    There is also a tab for the GODORT ALA Annual Conference In-Person Events in Philadelphia, PA on Friday June 27 and Saturday June 28 - https://godort.libguides.com/c.php?g=1463648&p=10887198  Registration to the ALA  Conference is only required to attend the GODORT meetings held at the on-site conference.
     
    GODORT and Politics, Policy, and International Relations Section (PPIRS)  members Happy Hour at 7:00 pm Eastern on Friday June 27 at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant,1150 Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19107. HeinOnline will sponsor a get together of GODORT and PPIRS members at 7 PM on Friday June 27 at the Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant near the convention center, there will be appetizers and drinks available. RSVP at  https://forms.gle/tpSCHnA5wLVHSsZP7 so we can get a head count!
     
    GODORT Annual Awards Reception for GODORT members on Saturday June 28, as we celebrate the accomplishments of the past year and recognize our outstanding award winners.
    When: Saturday, June 28, 2025 | 6 PM – 8 PM (ET)
    Where: McCormick & Schmick's (William Penn Room)

    GODORT Tour of Free Library of Philadelphia at ALA Annual Saturday June 28. Space is limited to 15 individuals and you must register in advance to join. The registration form is set to close when we meet the 15 capacity or on Friday June 13, whichever comes first. Free Library of Philadelphia, 1901 Vine St., 2nd Floor, Philadelphia, PA, 19103  (Accessibility entrance is located at the back of the library at 20th and Wood Street (northwest corner of the building).
    Saturday June 28 from 9:30 AM to 11 AM. Afterwards, tour attendees would also have the option to participate in the Rare Book Department tour, taking place at 11:00 AM.

    Tour itinerary would be as follows:
    9:30-10:15 a.m. Map Collection/Government Publications - meeting within the Map Collection, located on the second-floor, top of the main staircase within the Social Science and History Department.
    10:15-10:30 - Brief tour of the new second-floor exhibition about birds and birding (including selections from the Map Collection, Print and Picture Collection, Government Publications, and the Children's Literature Research Collection)
    10:30-10:55- Print and Picture Collection tour
    11:00-11:30 - optional tour of the Rare Book Department hosted by RBD staff
