Large Weeding Project of Government Documents

    Hello all,

I'm the new FDLP Coordinator at Mary & John Gray Library at Lamar University. As part of a larger renovation project of the library, we are undertaking a project to weed 80-90% of our physical government documents collection.

I've been FDLP Coordinator for another institution in Louisiana and successfully weeded one (much smaller) project there. I'm familiar with ASERL and FDLP Exchange from that experience.

However, I've no experience with weeding here in Texas or for a project of this size. So far, I've reviewed the Texas State Plan for Federal Repository Library Services and contacted our regional to inform them and ensure I have the most up to date requirements and information. I'm reviewing my institution's policies and areas to support our curriculum and working collaboratively with others to devise guidelines for what to keep.

If anyone has any advice or best practices to share, I'd appreciate it.
