The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    Looking for an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment at a Tier One Research University?  The University of North Texas Libraries, a member of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), is seeking a Government Information Librarian to lead the Government Information Unit, work collaboratively with library personnel, campus, and community as the coordinator for the Federal Depository Library Program for the UNT Libraries.  You'll be joining a pioneering team committed to service, learning, academic success, and belonging.  

     

    We are looking for someone who:   

    ·      Understands the value of government information to campus and community researchers 

    ·      Fosters collaborative relationships across the library, campus, and community 

    ·      Can lead a small team dedicated to ensuring government information is accessible to all 

    ·      Is passionate about and committed to public services in libraries

    We'll need you to have:   

    ·        American Library Association accredited master's degree, or equivalent. 

    ·        Strong written and oral communication skills.  

    ·        Familiarity with the role the Federal Depository Library Program plays in community access to information. 

    ·        Two years experience in public services in a library. 

    ·        Ability to build effective work relationships.

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:  

    ·        Two years of supervisory experience. 

    ·        Two years experience working with government documents collections. 

    ·        Two years of experience working in an academic library. 

    ·        Social Science undergraduate or graduate degree. 

     

    Salary dependent on qualifications with a $67,174 minimum for Assistant Librarian rank, $71,674 for Associate Librarian rank, or $77,974 for full Librarian rank;  with rank and hiring salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.  Librarian rank will be recommended by the Library Personnel Affairs Committee through review of the selected candidate's education, experience, scholarly and professional involvement, and service.
