The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    Did you catch the GODORT 101 session during ALA Annual and are curious more about the work being done by GODORT Committees? Maybe you would like to help add your talents to a committee? Looking for additional professional development opportunities? Maybe you are a member of another ALA group or round table and would like to be a liaison from that group to GODORT?
    We are looking for you!
    There are a number of vacancies on various GODORT committees and liaison contacts we would love to fill! These groups provide volunteer opportunities and chances to get involved in the work of the Round Table.

    GODORT has the following vacancies in these Committees:
    • Awards/Conference
    • Cataloging - need a Chair of the Working Group for the Cataloging Committee Cataloging Toolboxes
    • Development
    • Government Information for Children (GIC)
    • Legislation
    • Publications - need an At Large member
      • Notable Documents Panel under Publications - needs Federal Documents Judges, State & Local Documents Judge, International Documents Judge, International Documents Selector
    • Rare & Endangered Government Publications - especially need a Chair, in addition to some members
    • Social Media/Outreach/Technology
