The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    Hi to all!
    Welcome to a new year in the ALA and GODORT calendar! I am Andie Craley and am pleased and honored to be the current Chair of GODORT (Government Documents Round Table) of ALA.
    This Friday August 2 at 1 PM EST (12 Noon CT), we will resume our GODORT Friday Chats.  The topic will be "Welcome back to a new year! Share your institution's upcoming event plans! Welcome Back Student Fairs, Constitution Day, National Voter Registration Day, Library Card Sign Up Month, Banned Books Week, FDLP Anniversaries, Election Day, International Games Month, etc."
    GODORT Chats are hosted on the 1st Friday of each month at 1 PM Eastern. These are informal sessions for the GODORT community and friends to meet and talk about issues in government information. You do not need to be a GODORT member to attend (but we would love to have you join)!
