The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    Greetings all,

    Please join us this Friday, October 3 at 1pm EST, noon CST, 11am MST, 10am PST for another GODORT Friday Chat. These chats are informal sessions for the GODORT community and friends to meet and talk about issues in government information. You do not need to be a GODORT member to attend (but we would love to have you join)!

    This Friday's topic is Spooky Stacks: Terrifying Tales from the Library - Gather 'round the flickering candlelight and share your creepiest library encounters! From the acrid stench of vinegar syndrome devouring fiche to red rot crumbling old bindings, infestations of skittering pests, digital decay erasing archives, or improper storage turning treasures to dust-spill your spine-chilling tales of nightmare fuel from the stacks.
