The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    GODORT seeks proposals for Juried Submissions for ALA's 2026 Conference. For help in writing proposals, please see the education program proposal submission guide (PDF, link opens in new window) and education program proposal rubric (PDF, link opens in new window).

    Please email proposals and questions to esanders5@lamar.edu by 9/5/25. If you have an idea for a proposal but want to see if it fits, happy to provide feedback, too! Proposals will be shared and discussed with the GODORT Steering Committee to make a selection for submission. Once a proposal is chosen, it will be entered in the ALA 2026 submission site (link opens to new window), which closes 9/22/25.
