Calling everyone who works in a federal and armed forces library!

Please consider getting involved with the Federal and Armed Forces Libraries Interest Group (FAFLIG), which is part of the Reference and User Services Association (RUSA) and the American Library Association (ALA). Our mission is to promote the library and information service profession in the federal and armed forces communities, providing a common forum and professional network for library staff supporting their current needs and preparing them for the future.

FAFLIG is seeking nominations for two positions on its Executive Committee: Chair-Elect, and Federal Representative.
The Chair-Elect would serve a one-year term (July 1, 2022-June 30, 2023), followed by a one-year term as Chair, followed by a one-year term as Immediate Past Chair. This is a three-year commitment. Anyone who works in a federal or armed forces library is eligible.

The Federal Representative would serve a two-year term (July 1, 2022-June 30, 2024). Anyone who works in a federal library is eligible.

Nominees should submit a photo, bio, and a two-paragraph platform statement to faflig.ala@gmail.com. Self-nominations are welcome.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me or to the general FAFLIG email inbox. You can also check out FAFLIG's community on ALA Connect, or our Facebook and LinkedIn pages. Our annual report for 2022 is available at this link.

Nominations are being accepted through the close of business on June 13. Elections will be conducted at FAFLIG's annual business meeting on June 22.
