We all know that government documents librarians are exceptional, but perhaps you can think of several who especially deserve recognition. GODORT invites nominations for the James Bennett Childs Award and the Bernadine Abbott Hoduski Founders Award. Please consider nominating deserving individuals who have made lasting contributions to the field.
The James Bennett Childs Award is a tribute to an individual who has made a lifetime and significant contribution to the field of documents librarianship. The Award is based on stature, service, and publication which may be in any or all areas of documents librarianship. The award winner receives a plaque with a likeness of James Bennett Childs.
The Bernadine Abbott Hoduski Founders Award recognizes documents librarians who may not be known at the national level but who have made significant contributions to the field of state, international, local, or federal documents. This award recognizes those whose contributions have benefited not only the individual's institution but also the profession. Achievements in state, international, or local documents librarianship will receive first consideration. The award winner(s) receives a plaque.
Nomination forms and letters of support for GODORT awards are due Monday, December 1, 2025.
