The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    Hello Business Librarians,

    Do you know a successful librarian who is new to the field of academic business librarianship who would like to attend the ALA Annual Conference?

    If so, please nominate them for the BRASS Academic Business Librarianship Travel Award sponsored by Global Financial Data. Self-nominations are welcome.

    1. A letter of nomination addressing the criteria
    2. The nominee's current CV
    3. Self-nominations are encouraged to include an additional letter of recommendation

    Deadline: February 21st, 2025.

    Criteria

    The BRASS Academic Librarianship Travel Award Committee reviews written applications for the following:

    • The candidate should be an academic librarian with five or fewer years of experience in business librarianship
    • Nominee's interest in business librarianship as demonstrated by activities that may include (but are not limited to) past coursework, internships, jobs, special projects, and publications (40%)
    • An explanation of how the ALA experience will enhance individual career development and the advancement of the profession of business librarianship (30%)
    • A demonstrated financial need (20%)
    • The candidate does not need to be a member of ALA, RUSA, or BRASS but preference will be given to those that are members (10%)
