In conjunction with ALA Annual 2025, we've been able to set up a unique tour of the Free Library of Philadelphia. Space is limited to 15 individuals and you must register in advance to join. The registration form is set to close when we meet the 15 capacity or on Friday June 13, whichever comes first. I'll send a confirmation email ahead of Annual.
Free Library of Philadelphia, 1901 Vine St., 2nd Floor, Philadelphia, PA, 19103 (Accessibility entrance is located at the back of the library at 20th and Wood Street (northwest corner of the building).
Saturday June 28 from 9:30 AM to 11 AM. Afterwards, tour attendees would also have the option to participate in the Rare Book Department tour, taking place at 11:00 AM. The Rare Book Department will be reopening mid-June after 9 months of HVAC replacement/construction work.
Our tour hostess will be Marija Gudauskas, Head Supervisor and FDLP Depository Coordinator, Map Collection, Print and Picture Collection, Government Publications, Special Collections Division. Marija has asked that we cap our group at 15 for this behind-the-scenes tour of parts of The Free Library of Philadelphia's collections.
