  • 1.  Accessing court docs for US District Court for the Southern District of New York

    Hello,

I have a student trying to access the court filings for Curtis James Jackson III v. Taco Bell Corp (US District Court for the Southern District of New York). She found this on Justia https://dockets.justia.com/docket/new-york/nysdce/1:2008cv06545/329845 and the page refers to PACER (https://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/) for further documents.

    I was wondering:

    a) does anyone have an institutional subscription to PACER or information on setting it up or whether it's worthwhile for your library
    b) any ideas on how to find these court filings/documents for this case elsewhere? We searched NexisUni and Westlaw and did not find anything.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hi Rachel,

If you haven't already done so, I strongly recommend contacting the law librarians at Tulane. I am certain they can assist you and/or the student patron with these questions.  http://library.law.tulane.edu/screens/reference.html

    Best wishes,
    Elizabeth

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions and extremely useful information! I did also forward to our law librarians at Tulane and got their take on how they handle these requests as well.

    With gratitude,
    Rachel
