    Hello GODORT!

Register today for the next Help! I'm an Accidental Government Information Librarian on February 27, 2024 at 11 am (EST). This webinar will feature Benjamin Alred, current chair of ALA's GODORT, and Government Information and Maps Librarian at the University of Illinois Chicago.

Managing a Large-Scale Depository Weeding Project

When UIC decided to sell the warehouse used for offsite storage of depository material, I was faced with a problem - 4000 shelf feet of partially cataloged depository material, a ticking clock, and very little space on site. To address this, I developed a complex workflow that utilized google forms and FDLP eXchange and was able to ship several hundred boxes of material to our regional library and help several preservation stewards fill gaps in collections. This presentation will share the planning process as well as some of the lessons learned along the way.
