The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    All, sorry for the late notice but we're canceling this week's GODORT Chat. In lieu of chatting, everyone should look up an ancestor in the 1950 census: 1950 Census Records (I have reached out to NARA about sharing info at a Friday Chat but haven't heard back yet).

    And realize that the name index is not yet completed!
    You might need to look up by enumerator district.

    Which can lead to some serendipitous genealogying (in my opinion). I was able to find a few relatives just by looking at each page within each enumerator district (I still cannot find some stubborn relatives, but I'm not going to give up)!
