The mission of the Government Documents Round Table (GODORT) is to (1) To provide a forum for discussion of problems, concerns, and for exchange of ideas by librarians working with government documents; (2) to provide a force for initiating and supporting programs to increase availability, use, and bibliographic control of documents; (3) to increase communication between documents librarians and other librarians; (4) to contribute to the extension and improvement of education and training of documents librarians.

    The GODORT Cataloging Committee will hold their next meeting on Wednesday April 28, 2021 at 1:30 PM EST via Zoom. All are welcome to attend.

    Proposed Agenda:

    1. Motion to approve the January 11, 2021 ALA Midwinter Virtual Committee Meeting minutes (to be sent ahead of time to committee)
    2. Library Services & Content Management Update (Stephen Kharfen, GPO) 
    3. Marcive Update (Jim Noel, Marcive, Inc. / CRDP) 
    4. Library of Congress Update (Dawn Rapoza, LC) 
    5. Steering Committee Updates 
    6. Updates on the 3 Cataloging Toolbox LibGuides - https://godort.libguides.com/cataloging (Andrea Morrison, chair of working group) 
      1. RDA Cataloging Standard Update & CC: DA Report – RDA: Resource Description and Access (Cate Kellett)

          2. Chair Andie C. working to upload and organize Cataloging Committee documents to a GODORT Cataloging Google Drive and to the Technology committee.
          3. Andrea Morrison would like to work with someone together for an article for DttP on the new RDA Toolkit
          4. Andrea Morrison looking for someone who can help with Cataloging Toolbox for State Government Information so there is no duplication in the State Government Information LibGuide and other places
          5. Simon Healey looking for best practices document used by academic libraries on accessibility checkers for LIbGuides.

        1. Verifying open vacancies on Cataloging Committee for 2021-2023
        2. Creating possible GODORT Friday chat topics, suggested at November 4th meeting – more follow-up? 
        3. Consider putting together a proposal for GPO based on their 11/23/20 email to FDLP with regards to "Teach the FDLP Community Your Library's Workflows for Federal Publications"?
