Jim Jacobs and I wrote up some
analysis over at FGI. Please have a look. You're welcome to copy/paste anything that piques your interest. As we noted, there's some very good items in GPO's proposal, as well as some gaps that need to be addressed.

Subject: GPO Seeking Feedback on Legislative Proposals for FDLP
Thank you to all who attended last week's GODORT Legislation Committee meeting on Title 44. It was a lively conversation!
As chair of Legislation Committee, I encourage all GODORT members to respond to GPO's call for feedback on its recent legislative proposals that affect the Federal Depository Library Program. See the announcement, read about the proposals, and submit feedback no later than March 5, 2021.
Your feedback can address specifics of the proposal, including suggestions for improvements, additions, questions, and changes. Your feedback can also more generally address your experiences with the FDLP (what is working, what needs to change) as well as current public access opportunities and challenges for users of Federal information. If possible, you are encouraged to send a copy of your submitted feedback to Gavin Baker, Deputy Director, Public Policy & Government Relations, gbaker@alawash.org.
It's okay if you don't feel like you can comment on everything! Our colleagues at GPO want to have input from across the community, so if you are interested in the role of libraries in providing access to government information, then you should consider responding. If you have questions about this proposal, please post a comment here or contact me directly at shari.laster@gmail.com and I will do my best to connect you with an answer.
